Dear Fellow Federal Employees:

The Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) of Greater Wisconsin has again expanded its territory to include 46 counties in 2008. This territory accounts for over eighteen thousand federal employees. These employees work for various civilian agencies, the postal service or the military. They contribute to our great nation through hard work and devoted public service. Unfortunately our service alone is not enough; we need to do more to help make the world and our local communities a better place. Through the Combined Federal Campaign, each of us has an opportunity to give back to our communities and to make a difference in the lives of so many who are less fortunate than ourselves.

In 2007 the Greater Wisconsin campaign raised over $875,000 and these efforts helped to satisfy the many needs of local, national and international CFC supported agencies and organizations.

“The Unity in Community begins with You” is our local slogan the 2008 campaign. Your pledges and donations can have a real impact in your community, and it all starts with “You”.

We hope that you will consider pledging or donating for the first time, or if you are a returning donor consider increasing your donation. When you contribute through the CFC, you will have the confidence of knowing your dollars go directly to the charity or organization you specify. These dollars could assist with finding cures for disease, preserving the environment, or assisting people needing food, shelter, clothing, education or developing job skills. The majority of the work on the campaign is performed by volunteers and administrative costs are held to a minimum. In fact, over 92 percent of all contributions go directly to the designated charities or organizations.

Please take a look at this year’s Charity Listing booklet and/or our website based listing to think about your choices. This is your opportunity to make a difference in your community, our nation and possibly around the world.

On behalf of the many charities included in the 2008 Combined Federal Campaign, thank you for your support.

Sincerely,

Robert Beller, FACHE

THE TORCH HAS BEEN PASSED

The honor of leading the Combined Federal Campaign of Greater Wisconsin has passed to the Veterans Administration for the 2008 and 2009 campaign years.

The United States Postal Service was the lead agency for the CFC of Greater Wisconsin in 2006 and 2007. USPS Lakeland District Manager David Martin, acting in his role as CFC Chair, guided the campaign through a period of expansion that provided an opportunity for every Federal employee in Wisconsin to participate in the Combined Federal Campaign.

The Director of the Clement J. Zablocki Regional Medical Center, Robert H. Beller, will be the Chair of the CFC of Greater Wisconsin for the 2008 and 2009 campaigns and expects to see continued success and growth.

The LFCC Chair has passed from the capable and passionate direction of Denise Daugherty of the US Postal Service to Brian Walker of the VA Medical Center. The campaign as a whole owes a debt of gratitude to Denise for her unwavering enthusiasm to expand the campaign to every Federal employee in Wisconsin.

The goal of the 2008 Campaign will be to continue to educate and inspire Federal employees to participate in the CFC by making the campaign relevant from the most local to the greater global level in all 46 counties that represent the CFC of Greater Wisconsin.
